In her opening remarks, thematic chair Mrs Linet Mavu said that the report was a great milestone for the national and county governments towards the growing concern of disasters. She thanked IGRTC and the Partners for making the report a success and called upon implementation of the resolutions therein.
IGRTC chair Mr Kithinji Kiragu noted that both levels of Government serve the same citizens and the report guides the approach to disaster and how both levels of Government consult, cooperate and coordinate towards delivery of this important function.
The chief Guest Ag Cs Devolution Hon. Eugene Wamalwa thanked IGRTC and UNDP for the all important report that will go a long way in helping mitigate various risks. While appreciating the vital role the report will play, the CS called upon counties to use the report to plan and align their programs with disaster risk management and climate change aspects.
