Harmonious and effective intergovernmental relations is a key enabler for realization of projects and service delivery by both levels of Government. In realization of this mandate and in line with the Presidential directive on transfer of functions, IGRTC today held a consultative meeting with officers from the Housing Department and the National Housing Corporation (NHC).

The forum deliberated on the implementation of the function of Housing by both levels of Government, resources involved, challenges of capacity in counties and how to amicably solve emerging issues to ensure the housing function is delivered and the Affordable Housing program is realized.

This is part of the sector's approach by IGRTC to review functional assignments, attendant resources and emerging issues for reporting to The Summit ahead of the Intergovernmental sector meetings on transfer of functions. The meeting was chaired by the sector's Co- convener John Burugu and attended by Dr. Perminus Ndimitu, John Kimwela, Angeline Hongo, Housing Department led by Director Cassius Kusienya and the IGRTC secretariat.
