Parliamentary Meeting with Committee on Regional Development
IGRTC CEO Dr. Kipkurui Chepkwony, accompanied by Director Monica Wambua, appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Regional Development, chaired by Hon. Peter Lochakapong. They presented a report on the Unbundling and Transfer of Functions of the Regional Development Authorities to County Governments.
In his presentation, Dr. Chepkwony highlighted key proposals contained in the report, emphasizing the need to ensure that all identified projects and resources are transferred to either level of government through a well-coordinated approach between the two levels of government.
The report follows the conclusion of activities undertaken by a Working Technical Committee, pursuant to a directive of the 10th National and County Coordinating Summit and the Cabinet resolution of 7th March 2024, which called for a review of the role of Regional Development Authorities in light of devolution.
These recommendations aim to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration and enhance service delivery to citizens.
